One swipe is enough. This is an oil, and it spreads on its own. Using more doesn't do more.

Stay on the orbital bone. The ridge you can feel under your brow and beneath your eye, not the soft skin close to your lashes.

Apply to damp skin and smooth it in with your ring finger. Damp skin means less tugging and better absorption.

Give it a full minute. Let it absorb completely before concealer or mascara goes anywhere near it.

Not for daytime or contact lense wearers

I love the E balm for night and was looking for an eye serum for daytime under makeup. This IS NOT IT. Unfortunately it works its way into your eye and definitely is not an option if you wear contacts or makeup. But if you are looking for a second option for your bedtime routine it would work.

Reduces Dark Under Eye Circles- Slight Irritation if it gets in eye

I'm glad I bought Love & Eyebright as part of the promo set OL had available for purchase during the semi annual sale. It really did reduce my under eye puffiness and noticeably lighten my dark under eye circles. I'm pale and thin skinned so my under eyes usually look like I've been in a fight (or I'm a vampire and/or a goth). The under-eye circles are still there but so much less noticeable now. I waffled buying this because have severely sensitive eyes and skin due to MCAS and other genetic allergy conditions, so I normally can't put anything but pure oil near my eyes. Eyebright has never caused any burning, dryness, peeling or any irritation of my actual skin, but it does moderately irritate the rims of my eyelids if I put it too close or use to much and it seeps into my eyes. I now apply the product extra far away from my eyes and use only a thin film or a few dots of product. The consistency is thin and can run down your cheeks or into your eyes easily. This runniness is improver when mixed with the warmed up Vit E eye balm, it really makes your eye area feel soft and supple. I recommend warming it up in two fingers as instructed by OL, applying it over the Eyebright, and then using a facial roller or gua sha or other tool to gently press it deeper into the skin. The Vit E balm must be pre warmed as it is thick. I get dry around my irritable eyes, so I like the thickness. Overall this product was a pleasant surprise, I will now continue to buy and recco to others.

Can I wear it under makeup?

Yes, and it's what the formula was built for — it's light enough that concealer doesn't crease over it. The one rule is time: let it absorb for a minute before anything goes on top. Applying makeup over a wet layer is what causes sliding and mascara transfer.

How is it different from Botanical E Eye Balm?

They're opposites, and they work together. Love + Eyebright is a light daytime serum that absorbs and disappears. Botanical E Eye Balm is a rich overnight balm that sits on the surface and seals moisture in. Serum by day, balm at night — and on very dry days, serum first and balm layered over it.

Will it help with dark circles or puffiness?

We don't make claims about dark circles, and we'd be careful of anyone who does. What this serum does is hydrate the eye area and roll on cool, and skin that's well hydrated does tend to look more awake.

How much should I use, and how long will a bottle last?

One swipe under each eye is a full application. At that rate a bottle lasts most people months, which is why the size is smaller than it looks.
